The current western terminus of NY 102 is at William St. in Hempstead. Here is the first eastbound NY 102 shield, a few feet past William St. The first reference marker shows the route as being already 1.4 miles along, which suggests that the route either exists or once existed all the way to the end of Front St. (NY 102) at the west end of Hempstead. The last westbound reassurance shield for NY 102, about 1/2 mile from the actual terminus. Once again, no "END" sign, it just vanishes without warning. Photo taken by Andrew Kirschner on June 5, 2002.
