1st reference marker and last PA 14 reference marker at NY 14's southern terminus at the PA border in Ashland. The first northbound NY 14 shield can be seen in the distance. Note the hash marks on the reference marker. NYSDOT Region 6 had a short-lived practice of using hash marks instead of blank spaces on the touring route line of reference markers when NYSDOT began using them in the mid 1970's. This marker is affixed to the "Welcome To New York" sign. Photo taken by Mark Sinsabaugh on August 18, 2002.
