Here's some background information on the southern terminus as according to David Greenberger. "The south end is at 72nd Street. The new signs will lead you to believe otherwise: a few Henry Hudson Parkway BGSs imply it's at 57th, and the awkward reassurance marker at wsh-ny9a-hhp-rea.jpg is erroneously posted on either side of the highway between 57th and 72nd. Historically speaking, the elevated WSH picked up where the HHP left off at 72nd; only more recently, after the elevated highway south of 57th was dismantled, has the elevated section seemed more in line with the parkway section. Reference markers on this section give 9A (not 907V) and lamppost markers give MH (for Miller Highway). Due to its age and condition, this section has even more stringent weight restrictions than the parkway proper, but it's not part of the parkway."
