Taconic State Parkway

A scenic corridor on New York State's eastern fringes stretching from White Plains to the Berkshire Spur of Interstate 90 and the New York State Thruway, the Taconic State Parkway is one of the most scenic stretches of highway in the Northeastern United States. From suburban Westchester County, through the narrow passages of the Applachian Mountains and Clarence Fahnestock State Park in Putnam County to the rolling countryside of Dutchess and Columbia Counties (with overviews of the Catskills on the west bank of the Hudson River, the Taconic State Parkway has it all. On a personal level, the Taconic State Parkway is the way my family would usually take on trips between our home on Long Island and our cabin in the northern Catskills.
