The welcome signage is located at the top of the hill in the above photo. What's unusual about this is that then-Governor George Pataki's name is displayed on the sign, something that he requested be removed from all welcome signage. The only other known welcome sign that included Pataki's name is in Niagara Falls at the east end of the Whirlpool Bridge from Canada. His name was removed when Eliot Spitzer became governor in 2007. The governor line is now blank as evidenced by this photo I took on February 2, 2007.
